Weigh In Wednesday



Well, this is not what I planned to see this week but then I remember that I had some Chinese Vegetable LoMein the other day and sweet tea, hence the 1.4 lb gain AND the puffy feet!!!  I knew the sweet, sweet tea was going to be an issue but totally forgot that there is an unwritten rule that you do not eat Chinese food right before a weigh in.  Oh well, we all have to own up to these things and they are normal mistakes.  Yes, I knew better(not at the time because I wasn't thinking) and I paid the piper. I see this as a lesson learned and to not repeat it especially so early in this journey when I am fighting urges and temptations.  Fighting these has been tough and I have been able to handle most of them but I stumbled.  Not going to beat myself up over this but will take this as an incentive to regroup and move forward.  It also didn't help that last week was such a messed up week for the gym with the hubster working days and the lack of being able to go.  I did do some home stuff like the abs, Bosu and kettle bell but there is nothing more satisfying than to go to the gym and get these endorphins pumped up. Just need to get back on track and pull up my positive panties again. 

I am beginning to think outside the box more and more about my eating and workouts so I am excited to see what I can achieve from those.  Have been fighting with demons on occasion and some sabotage but overcoming them will make me a stronger person.  On the other hand, there is rowing machine at one of the gyms I work out at that is NOT going to get the best of me.  It is like no other rowing machine I have ever used and I am bound and determined I am going to learn how to master it.  I will have to take a picture of this beast because it will not get the best of if I have anything to do with it. I LOVE the rowing machine except this one and I think it is more like a LOVE-HATE relationship right now.  I am lucky if I can go 2 minutes right now.  Conquering that machine will be a new goal for me.

All in one

So this post will be an all in one catch up from when I started my FB page which got deleted by FB due to a person who felt I was a fake, etc, etc, etc so I decided to start my blog up again. A lot of this may be repeat from the page but I wanted to put it on here incase some of you are reading this for the first time.

Last week was very inconsistent with work outs since the hubby was working the same hours and since he is just getting back into working out from this last heart attack he wasn't going to have this going every day thing so.....but I made the most of them and felt confident afterwards so I am happy about that. 

We had dinner at our favorite Irish Pub in Jacksonville Saturday and I was a good girl. I actually brought home more than 1/2 of my meal since I splurged on an appetizer(pub pretzel with devilled mustard).  I didn't feel guilty like I normal would have since I didn't really cheat. Didn't feel stuffed or bloated so I was pleased. We went to BJ's Wholesale afterwards so I walked a lot of it off.

Yesterday my Fitbit died so I am very sad.  Since it was still under warranty they are sending me a replacement so I am having to use my phone for my steps =( but the lady said it would only be 5-7 business days.  Gosh I feel naked without it.  Just means I will really have to step up my game.

So, I mentioned before about my new favorite organic protein bars:
 
 
Well, there are 2 more to add to them:
 
 


These 2 are almond spice and chocolate cherry.  These are my go to bars for before and after workouts and in between snacks when I have the munchies but don't want to blow it with chips and stupid stuff I could get in trouble with.  I found out Vitamin Shoppe carries them all and have them on sale quite often. They are aspartame/sucralose free and the taste is amazing and does NOT leave an aftertaste. I have even thrown one in my purse while running errands so I am not tempted to go thru a drive thru.  I call these my Yumminess!!!!

Speaking of food(my all time favorite thing), I saw a recipe on FB that I tried this weekend called Spinach and Feta Turkey Burgers. I am a fan of ground turkey because you can add so many things to it and it always comes out delicious. Some people can't even tell it is ground turkey. Anyway, here is the recipe(I included the extras I added to make it more yummy). I grilled mine on my George Foreman since it was too hot outside:


Spinach and Feta Turkey Burgers

2 eggs, beaten
      2 cloves garlic, minced
      4 ounces feta cheese
      1 (10 ounce) box frozen chopped spinach, thawed and squeezed dry
      2 pounds ground turkey

Add all ingredients to list

I also added some Worstershire sauce, cumin and a little finely minced onion to mine for flavor since ground turkey tends to be bland and they were yummy.  I also added more Feta since we love Feta

 Prep  20 m                Cook 15 m            Ready In  35 m

1.      Preheat an outdoor grill for medium-high heat and lightly oil grate.While the grill is preheating, mix together eggs, garlic, feta cheese, spinach, and turkey in a large bowl until well combined; form into 8 patties.

3.      Cook on preheated grill until no longer pink in the center, 15 to 20 minutes.
     I have some new friends in my life as well. This is Kettle Bell, she is a 10 lb beauty who is going to make sure we have a swinging good time:
